OUR PHILOSOPHY

BrainTrainers is a holistic therapeutic community-based day program. It believes in the treatment of the "entire individual" throughout the day, and is not based on individual therapy sessions. Rather, activities are completed in group settings, messages are repeated by therapists throughout the program day, and each therapist and client is well-aware of the goals each is working on. It is based on the theory that the best rehabilitation addresses all aspects of an individual in a real-world community setting. One portion of the program day by itself is insufficient for personal progress - rather it is the accumulation of daily experiences that lead to daily functional changes and the carry-over of strategies and messages learned into real-world situations.

The Program strongly believes that the role of rehabilitation is to improve functional ability to the highest level possible given the scope and severity of the brain injury.
