COUNSELING AND FAMILY INVOLVEMENT

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING
Each client has the opportunity to meet with one of our therapists once per week for an individual counseling session to address program progress, as well as to discuss personal issues that might not be appropriate for group discussion. Individual interactions are also available throughout each program day with each therapist.

FAMILY SUPPORT AND COUNSELING
Meetings are held regularly for families and significant others. This is a group which runs parallel to the program, and while not a requirement, is strongly encouraged for those most involved with the client on a day to day basis. In the past, when available, this group has included residential program counselors, case managers, family, friends, and other professionals and significant others. The frequency varies by semester; sometimes weekly, sometimes bi-weekly, and sometimes individually.

Twice during the program period (during week 10 and week 20 of the program) multi-family and client post-program psychoeducational meetings are presented. At these meetings, the clients have the opportunity to discuss their program progress with invited guests. Family and friends are strongly encouraged to attend these two sessions at a minimum, if they are unable to attend each week.
